Welcome to Mercanta of the Americas

We are glad to launch Mercanta of the Americas, formerly known as Mercanta Central America.

This much expanded operation will be overseen by Christian Schaps, who will be responsible for looking after a number of origins in the region. The aim of MoA is to make it more accessible to search for fine coffees as well as provide improved grower and customer support.

Mercanta of the Americas has been fully remodeled. The lab is now equipped with a new roaster and of course, the famous M cupping table. We have even ensured it is beautifully decorated with regional coffee pictures!

Christian Schaps believes “In order to ensure consistent quality and guarantee the durability of our relationships with coffee producers we need a permanent presence at origin. One thing that Mercanta has, that few other specialty coffee importers do, is origin infrastructure in the shape of a lab, people and resources. This setup enables us to be able to carry out coffee hunting and client support field trips.”

Mercanta of the Americas is looking forward to welcoming our friends from around the world to come to cup and visit farms in the region.
