Coffee is an integral commodity when it comes to sustainable development. Here at Mercanta, we value our producers and the hard work exerted to efficiently produce quality coffee. We seek to pay our producers a livable wage and promote the importance of sustainability throughout our many partner countries.
In 2015, the UN generated a list of global goals called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to work on sustainably developing communities worldwide whilst improving environmental standards and decreasing poverty by 2030. Amongst the goals, a number are directly impacted by the coffee industry, of which, we at Mercanta utilize to guarantee coffee-producing communities can maintain production, whilst also contributing to improved livelihoods.
We are proud advocates of the SDGs and hope to aid in the achievement of reducing poverty, improving environmental conditions, decreasing gender inequality, and promoting sustainable development of coffee-producing communities.
