Toronto welcomed me with open arms for the Canadian Coffee and Tea Show this past September. The weather was the hottest Toronto had seen in years, but the iced coffee and cold brew was plentiful! The event was full of great coffee, great people and great tea. The show held informative workshops about managing cafes, dialing in the perfect shots, creating latte art and a Barista 101 class. Some of these workshops were run by our good friends at Propeller Coffee. I visited some great coffee shops including Propeller, the always beautiful JJ Bean cafes as well as a new Lit Espresso Bar (Pig Iron Coffee) that now includes delicious brick oven pizza. I also visited Hatch’s massive and immaculate cold brew operation just outside of Toronto. The trip was great and I’m looking forward to returning!
