Ordering from Europe & rest of the world (excluding North America)

Our portfolio of specialty coffees from across the producing world is available for delivery direct to your roastery. This catalogue changes every week as new arrivals come in and other lines are sold out.

From our UK warehouse we deliver to over 30 countries worldwide – including specialty roasters in Europe, South Africa and Asia. We are happy to consider new routes and markets wherever feasible. For orders within Australia and New Zealand please contact our Australian partners, Melbourne Coffee Merchants .

Our minimum order is one full euro pallet (around 600-750 kg, or 10 to 12 bags). You can pick and choose any selection of our available coffees to fill up your pallet - i.e. you can have a completely mixed pallet or a pallet of one particular coffee (full bag sizes).

Typically our coffees are prepared in traditional 60kg or 69kg jute bags; some are also available in smaller 20-35kg bags or vacuum packed boxes. Where possible we line our jute sacks with PVC Grainpro bags – an airtight storage system that preserves aroma and freshness for longer, while also allowing the coffee to breathe naturally. We also offer a selection of our coffees (mainly our Brazils) in ‘PET’ (polypropylene) bags - a synthetic (but fully recyclable) alternative to the traditional jute bag that does not impart any baggy ‘jutey’ taint to the coffee over time.

Our coffees are delivered on a clean, dry pallet, strapped and shrink-wrapped for safe and secure transport.

If your cash flow and storage space allows, we can usually negotiate better transport rates for orders of 2 pallets or more. And this will mean improved prices for you.

We’re happy to advise you on planning your pallet to include a selection of new and recent arrivals, single origin coffees and components for espresso blends.

Start-up roasters

Mercanta was established in 1996 specifically to supply the growing number of small specialty roasters. We’ve worked with many new and start-up operations worldwide and have been very pleased to see these new companies flourish.

You may not yet have your roaster installed and operational. In fact, in our experience, it can take 3-6 months longer than planned before your roaster is built, delivered, installed and operational.

We manage our inventory very careful and our coffees turn over very quickly. There’s little sense in sending you a detailed price list at this early stage as many of the coffees will have sold before you are ready to place your first order. But these price ranges will be useful for you in your business planning:

  • From around £5.00 (€6.00) per kg and upwards a wide selection of traceable, high quality specialty grade coffee is available. Most of our coffees are available in the £5.00-£7.00 (€6.00-€8.50) range, although prices for micro lots, exotic origins and award-winning Cup of Excellence auction coffees can be significantly more expensive.
  • A 10 to 12 bag pallet of selected coffees will cost approximately £4,000-£5,500 (€4,800-€6,600), inclusive of delivery and fully insured.

Around 3-4 weeks before your roaster is installed and you’re ready to start roasting, please get in touch and we can provide you with a full and up to date listing of all our green coffees.

Your coffees will be delivered within 6-10 days of confirmation of your order (for UK and European customers). We also ship monthly to the Far East, Australia and other destinations.
